I was a US Navy hospital corpsman serving with the US Marines in Vietnam. I know more and have been exposed to triage and on-the-fly emergency surgical procedures than most second-year surgical residents, our collectively having a 98% success rate. Before I graduated from college as an old fart with a degree in communications and journalism, why wasn't I offered this fast track more than forty years ago when today I could be practicing medicine as a Nurse Practioner, a Physicians Assistant, an MD, or even a specialized steady-handed surgeon!

I HATE YOUR GODDAMNED GUTS FOR LETTING AMERICA'S VETERAN HOSPITAL CORPSMEN LAY FALLOW!!!!!!
